It’s a Beautiful day in the History of my Town, my Church, and my Country … and I’m not looking for something dumb to do.. but some fun thing to do on this day under the Clouds and the Rain!
The Centennial Bells and it’s clock was inaugurated this morning, in spite of the rain but the show must go on. Notice the clock’s hands seem like a smiling face on top. this is for the 100 years anniversary of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga.
The Centennial Bells Names
-
Spiritu Santo (Top)
-
Jesus Cristo (Middle)
-
Padre Nuestro (Bottom)
at the same time the Pentecost Sunday was celebrated as part of the Easter Sundays of the Roman Catholic Church .. I took this one after the mass was ended and notice to see the church goers descending from the church with their umbrellas .. heheheh forgot to tell you it was raining still.
it is customary for the church goers to buy some bunches of flowers, especially the women for them to adorn their altars (typically a Roman Catholic homes also have their altars in the house). Business is business for the vendors no matter wht will be the weather.
after my church activity I hurried to the town plaza to take some pictures on what had happened there, badly I was late in the ceremony plus the rain. but at least I got these pictures with disturbances from the walking public to block my view. The Flag still flies with glory on a rainy Independence Day.
Wreaths of flowers are offered to the Rizal Monument, heheheeh usually by the city officials and guests .. as always . heheh. A monument of Rizal is erected in everyone town here in the Philippines because he is our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
this is my sunday. Three Celebrations in one day under the clouds and the rain!
